A former member of the Pussycat Dolls claims the “Don’t Cha” group was really a front for a “prostitution ring.”
“My truth.I wasn’t in a girl group. I was in a prostitution ring.Oh & we happened to sing & be famous. While everyone who owned us made the $,” wrote Kaya Jones in an explosive series of tweets.
Jones, who left the booty-shaking band before its smash-hit 2005 debut, claims members were forced to “sleep with whoever they say.”
“How bad was it?people ask-bad enough that I walked away from my dreams, bandmates&a 13 million dollar record deal.We knew we were going to#1,” she wrote.
“Robin & the record label made all the money. We as Pussycat Dolls were paid $500 a week. While we were being abused & used. Fact!,” she added, referring to group founder Robin Antin.
The singer, who performed a duet on Corey Feldman‘s album “Angelic 2 the Core,” said she plans on naming names, and kept a journal of everything that happens.
She said she has reported the claims before, but wasn’t taken seriously.
“In 2004 I told hollywood executives, 2005-2006 I told press. In 2011 I spoke up again. Hope you can hear me now Media in 2017! Way to go,” she wrote.
Antin told The Blast the allegations are “disgusting, ridiculous lies” adding that Jones is, “clearly looking for her 15 minutes.”
Her post on X:
I’ve been telling you all for years. Every post I’ve seen about Diddy just makes me upset. Are you listening now? Theres always bad people and good people in every business. There’s still many good people. I myself am actively trying to change our industry. I can’t wait to share what I am launching to help artists in my business stay safe and away from predators. I want change and I’m one of many who are showing that it is possible. 50 cent talking about Diddy I guess he gets heard. Kaya Jones talking about young women and the way we are treated fell on deaf ears. I hope you all are listening now. And for all of my fam! You have supported me and listened and I’m forever grateful and thankful for you. I’d be nothing without you fam. You give me hope for a greater future in music. Thank you
